Ingredients

  • 4 oz mushrooms
  • 1/2 c green pepper
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/2 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1 1/4 c hot water
  • 2 c cooked chicken
  • toast or mashed potatoes

Instructions

Cook and stir mushrooms and green pepper in butter over medium heat for 5 minutes. (If using canned mushrooms, reserve the liquid.)

Blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook until bubbly.

Add milk, water, bouillon, and mushroom liquid. Boil and stir 1 minute. Add chicken and heat through.

Serve over toast or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1/4 c onion; minced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Instructions

Soak bread in 1/2 c milk.

Mix all ingredients, shape into balls, and brown in a Dutch oven.

Pour soup and 1/2 can water over the meatballs. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Ingredients

  • 50 g yellow curry paste
  • 1 T oil
  • 1 c coconut milk
  • 200 g chicken
  • 1/2 c coconut milk
  • 100 g cubed potatoes
  • 50 g onion
  • 30 g peas (optional)
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 tsp sugar

Instructions

Stir fry the curry paste with oil, then add 1 c coconut milk.

Add meat and 1/2 c coconut milk. Heat until boiling.

Add potatoes, onion, peas, and 1/2 c water. Cook until the vegetables soften.

Add sugar and season to taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 c flour
  • 3/4 c cornmeal
  • 2 to 3 T sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 T butter
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/4 c cooking oil or melted butter

Instructions

Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add 1 T butter to a 10 - inch cast - iron skillet. Place in a 400 - degree oven for about 3 minutes, until butter melts. Swirl to coat bottom and sides of pan.

Combine eggs, milk, and oil. Add wet ingredients all at once to the dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened. Pour batter into the hot skillet. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

  • 1 c butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¾ c flour
  • ¼ c cocoa
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 c walnuts

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x13 pan. Melt chocolate and cool.

Soften butter and whisk until it is pale yellow and light. Add the sugar and whisk until light and fluffy. Whisk in cooled chocolate, then add eggs one at a time. Whisk in the vanilla, then sift in the flour, cocoa, and salt. Fold in the nuts.

Transfer batter to a prepared baking pan and bake about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 c celery; chopped
  • 1 c onion; chopped
  • 1 c green pepper; chopped
  • 2 T pickled jalapeno; chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 c chicken broth
  • 30 oz canned great northern beans drained
  • 1 lb chicken breast cooked and diced
  • 1/2 c half - and - half

Instructions

Heat oil over medium heat. Add celery, onion, pepper, and jalapeno; saute until beginning to soften, about 4 minutes.

Add garlic, chili powder, and cumin. Saute 1 minute.

Add broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are crisp - tender, about 3 minutes.

Add beans, chicken, and half - and - half. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until heated through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  • 2 oz pepperoni; finely chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 can garlic butter crescent rolls

Mix together pepperoni, cream cheese, and basil.

Roll out crescent rolls and cut each one into three pieces. Divide the cheese mixture among the crescent roll pieces and wrap the dough around the cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese; grated
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup rice krispies
  • 6 shakes tabasco

Mix all ingredients together and form mixture into 1-inch balls. Mash with the tines of a fork. Imprint with the fork in the opposite direction to form a crisscross pattern. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Best when served fresh, but they may also be placed in an air-tight container and frozen.

  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 c thinly sliced onion
  • 1 1/2 c grated cheese
  • 4 slices crisp bacon
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 c milk

Instructions

Mix together flour, salt, and butter to form pie crust. Roll out and press into pie pan.

Saute onion and fry bacon.

Sprinkle onion, bacon, and cheese into crust. Combine eggs and milk. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour into crust. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsps yeast
  • 1 c Water; warm
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tsps Salt
  • 3 c flour
  • essence spice
  • garlic powder; or garlic salt
  • dill
  • parmesan; grated
  • 2 tablespoon Butter; melted

Mix together the first five ingredients and a third of the flour. Add spices/cheese to taste. Mix in enough flour to handle; knead five minutes. Let the dough rest five minutes.

Divide into 6 pieces and roll each into a circle. Add sauce and toppings to half of each circle, fold the other side over, and crimp together around the edge.

Bake on a Silpat for 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Brush with melted butter and bake for 10 to 15 minutes more.
