Cream of Wild Rice Soup

- 1 pkg long grain and wild rice 6.2 oz
- 1 c onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 T butter
- 1 1/2 T flour
- 1/2 tsp ground mace
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 5 1/4 c chicken broth (3 14.5 oz cans)
- 2 c half - and - half cream
- 1/2 c white wine

Prepare rice mix according to package directions.

In a large saucepan, sauté onion in butter until tender. Stir in the flour, mace, and pepper. Gradually stir in the broth, cream, wine, and cooked rice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
