Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

- 2 T flour
- 12 oz cubed stew meat (beef or pork)
- 2 T oil
- 3 c vegetable juice
- 1 c water
- 1 c onion wedges
- 1 T worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp beef bouillon
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 c potatoes; cubed
- 1 1/2 c frozen green beans or 1 pt canned g; reen beans
- 1 c frozen corn
- 2 carrot; sliced

Coat meat cubes with flour and brown in oil. Stir in vegetable juice, water, onion, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon, and herbs. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.

Add potatoes, beans, corn, and carrots. Simmer for 30 minutes.

OR --- Slow cooker: Brown meat, then combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours.
